Means the empowering of a community through the adoption of appropriate organisational structures which enables all Aboriginal people in the local Community the opportunity to be represented as members and to be involved in the decision making process and, therefore, the right to participate and contribute to the goals, structure and operation of its health services. |
Health Is Life Is Health
The National Aboriginal Health Strategy Working Party, (1989), defined health as:
"Not just the physical well-being of the individual but the social, emotional, and cultural well-being of the whole community. This is a whole - of - life view and it also includes the cyclical concept of life-death-life."

BAHSL is a non-profit organisation which relies on public support from individuals, community groups, corporations, trusts and foundations as well as governnment funding to continue to improve the health and well-being of our clients and community.
On Wednesday, 17th June, 2009, an Open Day was held at the Brewarrina Aboriginal Health Service Limited targeting the Brewarrina community.
Originally the day was to be held on the 9th June, but was postponed due to wet weather.
