On Thursday, 7th April, 2011, Walgett Aboriginal Medical Service participated in Harmony Day held at the Collarenebri Central School. Harmony Day is a day for all Australians to celebrate cultural diversity and spread the message that everyone belongs. The goal was to support Year 5 and 6 students with an activity for Harmony Day. |
Health Is Life Is Health
The National Aboriginal Health Strategy Working Party, (1989), defined health as:
"Not just the physical well-being of the individual but the social, emotional, and cultural well-being of the whole community. This is a whole - of - life view and it also includes the cyclical concept of life-death-life."

BAHSL is a non-profit organisation which relies on public support from individuals, community groups, corporations, trusts and foundations as well as governnment funding to continue to improve the health and well-being of our clients and community.
On Wednesday, 17th June, 2009, an Open Day was held at the Brewarrina Aboriginal Health Service Limited targeting the Brewarrina community.
Originally the day was to be held on the 9th June, but was postponed due to wet weather.
